Vintage Report

2021

Winter-spring rains meant we started the season with good soil moisture. Once again we escaped the late September and mid-October frosts that caused significant damage across many vineyards in North Canterbury. Weather at flowering was cloudy, wet and cool, reducing fruit set and potential yield. Warm dry conditions in January and February slowed shoot growth. Small bunches due to poor flowering ripened early with higher than usual sugars. A high-quality vintage.
