We went into spring with the soil at field capacity. Mild spring conditions gave us rapid and even establishment of canopies. A very dry late spring brought on an early and rapid flowering. December rain brought some relief but set the canopy growing at an alarming rate meaning much more effort was required to bring it under control. Harvest commenced around mid-march but required diligent hand triage due to the presence of mildews.
